On October 29, a new edition of BBVA Global Open Talks will take place, this time dedicated to open banking and how it has revolutionized the financial sector in recent years. This talk, attended by international experts among whom Carlos López-Moctezuma and Carmela Gómez Castelao stand out, will address different issues such as the context that has allowed open banking to become the new standard, the different regulations that have been implemented in the world to facilitate its expansion or how BBVA has faced this profound digital and cultural transformation.
Carlos López-Moctezuma is Global Head of New Business Models, Open Banking and Innovation at BBVA and is one of the leading global experts in open banking. He is responsible for the development of the strategy that BBVA is deploying to be able to offer its banking services from third-party systems and platforms through APIs, one of the key tools that has allowed open banking to evolve so prominently.
Carmela is Global Head of Open Banking at BBVA Group and her career at the entity has been deeply connected to the bank’s digital transformation processes and the opening of new digital channels that adapt to the needs and demands of users. Thanks to her involvement in these areas, BBVA was chosen as the best website in Spain and Latin America in 2017 and won the first prize for the BBVA mobile application in the same year. During her participation in this edition of Open Talks Global, she will analyze the creation and evolution of digital ecosystems that are the cornerstone of open banking nowadays.
